This month’s Powerplays are below:

Are you a Bristol-based or Southwest-based artist?  Would you like to have your music selected to play on Ujima Radio?

Each month, Ujima Radio picks 10 of the best tracks released in Bristol & Southwest. These are featured twice an hour across the Primetime Shows in The Rise Up Breakfast Show Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and The Cruising Show Monday to Friday, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., with featured spots on the Urban Grooves Playouts.

If you’re an artist from the Southwest, you can have your song featured. All you have to do is send in your song via MP3 with clean lyrics and conscious, add a headshot of yourself and your social media tags, and we will contact you back if chosen.

Next week a new over 30’s night launches on Friday 31st May.

MATURE Fridays takes place on the last Friday of each month @ The newly refurbished Harvey’s Lounge 12 Denmark St, BS1 5DQ. Doors 8pm-2am.

Featuring special guests from London Soul Radio Reggie Styles, from Southport Weekender Martin In Full Swing, alongside Ujima’s DJ Style & Bandyt.

Hip Hop @ 50 UK Tour

As Hip Hop continues through its 50th year, a ground-breaking celebration is set to kick off across cities, inviting enthusiasts of all ages to immerse themselves in the vibrant world of Hip Hop culture. This Sunday 21st April the tour stops off in Bristol!

@ The Trinity Centre, Trinity Rd, Old Market, Bristol BS2 0NW – Doors 1pm – 11pm.

Come and join a full day of fusion of art, music, dance, and dialogue. There will be panel discussion workshops, celebrating Hip Hop, contributions by former DMC World Champion Cutmaster Swift, DJ Lynx, Funky DL, Carasel, Kelz, DJ Style plus many more.

We’ll be broadcasting our specially extended final Let’s Talk About Blood and Organ Donation show live from Glen’s between 10am until 1pm. And we’ll be musically entertained by Faada Soljie for an hour between 1pm and 2pm.

Come and join Anndeloris Chacon from Bristol Black Carers, Miss Divine, Coord the Seeker and guests in conversation around the issues raised when discussing Blood and Organ transplants within our Black communities.
