Ujima Radio are looking for volunteers of all ages to join our exciting community media hub.

Ujima Radio is Bristol’s leading Black arts and media social-enterprise broadcasting 24/7, 365 and run by a team of over 100 volunteers

We are a non-profit organisation supplying Bristol with local news,

lively discussions across a range of topics, with art and music from Bristol, the Caribbean, Africa and the rest of the world.

Ujima is the Swahili word for “collective work and responsibility” and this principle is at the heart of all we do.

We are looking for volunteers to help in all areas of the radio station from presenting, producing, researching, technical skills, social media, admin, sales and so much more.  If you can spare some time to keep the beating heart of Ujima ticking in return for some training then email us at: ujimaoffice@gmail.com with Volunteer in the subject bar.

Miranda Rae is a Producer and Presenter with over 25 years experience of working in radio and music industries including her own weekly show on BBC Radio 5 for which she won a Sony Award and many years on the infamous Galaxy Radio where Miranda played a pivotal role in the UK’s music scene. Miranda assists in overseeing, and helps to curate over 50 programmes a week. The role is multi-faceted and includes training, broadcasting, producing, programming, supporting emerging talent, social media, PR & publicity, event management and stage management, employing many technical skills including editing and using many different software as a user and a programmer.
